  2. Attentional biases in Blood-Injection-Injury phobia

As part of our current project, we are preparing a behavioral study related to blood-injury-injection phobia. We would like to examine attentional bias related to BII phobia, with a visual probe task based on the paradigm of Gladwik and Wink (2020).

We first measure the images used in the study along the dimensions of vigilance, arousal, threat, and disgust. In addition to evaluating the images, we collected healthcare experience questions and DS-R, STAI-5, and MFS questionnaires with the respondents for further studies.  The images we used depicted blood, injection, medical devices, injuries, and medical interventions.

With images selected based on the results, we will conduct a behavioral study in an online environment. Which will be later supplemented with other physiological measurements (e.g. eye tracking) under laboratory conditions.
